Fly Fishing Film Festival
That time of year again… Yes, you’re right, Christmas is just around the corner. But more importantly: RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival will return to European cinemas in 2020. Visiting the event is a must for all those who can’t get enough of fly fishing, want to talk to like-minded people or just want to have a good evening out. Here in Hamburg, for example, attending RISE at the cinema becomes a real event. Not only because the scene is manageable and you know most of the visitors. No, as a rule one goes for drinks after the show in small or large groups, discussing the films shown, fly fishing in general or simply pouring down a drink or two. RISE is therefore the ideal occasion to watch some exciting fly fishing films, meet Facebook acquaintances in person or socialize in a relaxed atmosphere. The ticket prices are moderate and since the organizers or sponsors open their cornucopia for every event, you can also win some pretty good stuff at the raffle during all shows across the country.
Speaking of winning: you’re in for a chance already now. The hosts Ole Rogowski, Simon Stäblein (D), Sebastian Bremm and Thomas Schatzmann (AT, CH), who are organizing the festival in all three German speaking countries on behalf of Gin-Clear Media, are again giving away 5 tickets for free to a show of your choice. Let the fairy godmother do her job and just send us a message with the city of your choice to email@example.com At the deadline for publication the final selection for RISE 2020 had not yet been decided, but the first contribution that made it into the selection is “Distant Bays” by Lionel Machado. In this film, a group of friends embarks on a voyage of discovery into previously unexplored areas of Lago Strobel. Their goal is to find and catch wild fish that have never seen a fly before. The film impressively tells a story of camaraderie, the joy of fly fishing and shows perhaps the largest rainbow trout in the world surrounded by a Mars-like landscape.
So have fun, go there, join in and maybe we’ll meet in Hamburg …
